Some examples of my work
Following on from the 'reflections' picture I did of Hustlergate in Bradford, I began to look around for something else
to tackle on the same lines. I had wondered about this building in Halifax with its glass frontages, but until I went ferreting
round with my camera, hadn't realised how fascinating the walkway through the building was with the glass and reflections
on either side. I was so taken with it, I attempted two drawings. This one is my favourite. For an interesting update on this
picture, see the 'Work in progress' page!

| Cuckoo Steps - Hebden Bridge |
I found this, almost hidden, corner of Hebden Bridge quite by chance having drawn a building at the bottom of these steps.
Being curious,I followed them up and found the twists and turns tempting. The light through the trees made this particular
view special.
The red brick
building on the right of this picture has featured in the news many times over the past few years but the narrow street with
its sets and mixture of stone and brick has always appealed to me. The colours in this small space were a pleasure to work
out and - I think - make a good picture. At present this picture is being offered as a raffle prize at "Picture This", my local
framers. Martin and his wife regularly do the Great North Run and I offered this as an alternative to direct sponsoring and
an additional means of raising money for their charity this year, Barnados. If anyone would like to purchase tickets or sponsor
them to run, either get in touch with me or Martin through the link on my pages.
The actual size of these drawings is 11cms
square. Fitting everything in can be quite a challenge, given the intricacy of the stone carving! I already have quite a collection
and still have more I would like to complete.

| Doorway in Sunbridge Rd, Bradford |
This picture is slight departure from my usual style.
I found it needed different techniques and I think I learnt a lot through this attempt. I was quite pleased with the
result. So much so, I entered it for the Derwent exhibition earlier this year.
I am fortunate enought to have a lot of my work regularly on show
at 'Picture This' Bespoke framers in Chapel Street, Queensbury. Contact them for information of events and view work from
other local artists.
