| 'The Queensbury Map' produced 1999 |
This is my Queensbury map which I produced in 1999.
It went on sale at the end of that year and so far, close on 400 prints have been sold. I also hand-colour prints if
people prefer. I enjoy maps, particularly historical ones. It was certainly interesting designing my own. The centre is a
stylised relief map of Queensbury showing lots of historical details and this is surrounded by the fourteen
public houses which lie - or did in 1999 - within the old boundary of Queensbury village. Some have since changed their
use or their names.
Actual map size is 270mm x 335mm and it is printed on cream, hammered
A3 sheets.

Prior to this map being produced,
I had pictures on display at the Vermuyden Gallery in the Piece Hall, Halifax. It was suggested by the gallery owner that
a Halifax map would be interesting. I used the same format as the Queensbury one, surrounding the historically based
centre area with the buildings and street scenes of Halifax. Halifax has managed to preserve and use many of its fine old
buildings and, in my opinion, has retained some of the individuality which has been lost in many city centres. This map is
hand finished and signed and produced as a limited, numbered edition.
Both maps are available from 'Picture This'
Gallery,33, Chapel Street, Queensbury,Bradford, or from myself by post. For prices please see orders page.
